I have gone over every wire in and out of the 1986 Brat I just picked a couple weeks and I still have not been able to figure out the tach issue. The schematic in the chilton manual does not help to muc can anyone out there give me some help with it, thanks.  I picked it up for 500 cash.

hi,

 i'm not a brat guy but i know some about the same yr cars,  the signal for the tach comes from one of the wires on the coil i believe,  one of the - side , might check if only one is there, should be 2 on that side.  i know some of the members can help more but maybe it is bad connector or cut off or left off& laying under the coil area.

Look for the yellow wire that isn't connected.

 

Should go to - side of coil.

Does anyone have a wiring schematic break down for it so that I may do a better wire trace?
