I have an EA 81 engine on an airboat. I have no way of finding out what vehicle it came out of all I have is the number stamped on the case - 002683 - how do I find out the particulars.

Post photos of it, especially from the valves' covers; so we could help you in a Better way.

 

The EA81 could came factory with Solid Lifters, or Hydraulic Lifters; with a Carter Carburator or with a Hitachi Carburetor, also Twin Hitachi Carburetors...
