Hello and question

Featured Replies

Hi everybody!  I'm not a Subaru owner yet, but I've been thinking about getting one.  My car I was driving just died for good (Toyota Camry LE with over 300k miles), so I am in the market for a new(er) one.

I'd like to spend more time in nature, so I have been eyeing Subarus for a while now.  The only thing I didn't like about my old car (besides its age and looks) was that I couldn't take it out in nature very far.  I need something that is economical to drive daily, reliable, and I would LOVE something in all wheel drive, so I'm thinking of a Forester.  Somebody else suggested a Toyota Rav 4, and since I liked my Camry so much I think it might not be a bad fit either.

What do you guys think?  Are there other models of Subaru I'm missing that come in AWD?

Thank you for any and all input!

The Outback is a great option too.

Not sure about any others.

Subaru has been doing AWD longer then any other maker.

Greetings!

I have a '00 Outback and I love it. I have driven it in many places I thought a passenger car/wagon could never go...but my soob had made it with little effort. I'm in Colorado and drive mountain roads and trails daily. My Outback never seizes to surprise me! Note: I added a 2" lift to help ground clearance.

Good luck in your search for the best car that fits your specific needs.

Outbacks are great. Foresters are great. Legacy or Impreza cars on Forester/Outback suspension are great. I've owned them all.

Lately, I've been really into the Foresters. Foresters have slightly better approach/departure angles (and better turning radius, IIRC) than the Outbacks. They're essentially taller, bloated Imprezas and they're really fun! For going up in the hills, they're great!

I say check out all of them. Test drive a few. See which you like the best. Follow your heart! ;)
