Just brought home a '79 brat last night and we have been digging right into her. Now im just looking for ideas on how to make mine a little less ugly... id love to replace it but i feel like one in good shape might be hard to come by. Anyone ever died/repaired a cracked one? Ive seen the dash covers but im not sure i want to go that route. Just curious about my options.

Bondo, sander, and spray paint

This is where I was going to take mine, until I found out it would cost about $1000.

I can justify a lot of things but $1000. I just can't do that. 

Careful if you go the spray adhesive route. My instrument panel was "glued" in due to over-spray.

 

Will be watching this thread closely for the same reason as barrett.
