legacy rough idle

Featured Replies

I get codes p0507 and p1507 cleaned IAC and may.. Testing tps pins 1 & 2 I get 5 v idle and 1.0v wot

DOHC 2.5 engine?

TPS should have:

Red : ECU ground

White : Signal voltage

Black : Reference, 5V

The only one you need to really be concerned with is the white wire.

Check for 0.5v with key On, engine Off, throttle closed.

4.5v at wide open. Ground the meter to engine ground or battery -.

You're checking voltage difference between the pins. That doesn't directly tell you what you need to know, though if those numbers are correct, it means the TPS is out of adjustment.

It's a SUS so it's a 2.5 DOHC.

And yes before the battery on my phone died I noticed I was checking the wrong wires so the TPS is fine.. the IAC on the other hand I don't know.. the friken PCV hose that leads to the block was fully blocked.. I had to clean that out plus drive 40 miles to get the a replacement PCV hose connector because it snapped on the first pull of a hose..

Anyways, I did not fully take off the IACV because of the gasket issue so I just did the front side of it.. I do have a spare one from a EJ22.. what I used to clean it was throttle body cleaner which is what I had on hand.

Broken PCV hoses means other broken hoses as well. Did you replace the PCV valve?

Codes make me think vacuum leak, or the throttle body is caked up with carbon sludge and really needs a cleaning.

Seafoam it! If nothing else, its fun!
