Possible to set OBD II readiness monitors while car is in the air?

Recommended Posts

I've got a '98 Legacy 4EAT I'm trying to get through emissions.

If I jack this car up so all 4 wheels are off the ground and put the FWD fuse in, is it possible to do a "drive cycle" and set the readiness monitors without actually driving it on the road?

Should be able to, but you need to run it at about 45-50 mph for 5-10 minutes to get the CAT monitor to set.

Need between 1/2 and 3/4 tank of fuel to get the evap monitor to set.

Subaru has a TSB out about the quickest way to set the monitors. I've posted it a few times. If you search here for How to set Emission Monitors you should find it.
