I'm not a gear head but I thought I know what my issue is. Where do I describe what I think and wait to see if I am right or wrong, if it says I can't post in the repair forum

Welcome to USMB!  What is your car?  Post in the appropriate forum.

find the forum that correlates with what type of subaru you have. theres old gen stuff, 90s plus etc 

the repair section is more of a repair manual section than a " what do i repair" section
