3rd gear and won't move.

1984 Subaru gl fwd.

After repair clutch kits and rear seal....

When test driving, it was good on 1, 2, 4, 5 and reverse.

But 3rd gear won't go, and can hear gear noise when I tried to push hard.

Anything else idea? I don't think if it's bad trannmission. Cuz was work on 3rd gear when before repair clutch.

Input shaft bearing.

Probably pushed on the shaft installing clutch causing play in uppershaft main bearing.  Or it could have been going out already and this was just last straw or coincidence.

Shaft and gearshift "walking" forward as you try to engage 4th.....trans needs new upper shaft bearing.
