Hi,


I recently bought a forester and the Speedo/Odometer/Cruise Control are
not working its a 98 Manual, i read online that this was a speed sensor
issue, i replaced the speed sensor (new part...) and it still does not
work. My friend told me it maybe my dash... or a transmission problem
(google aint my friend on this issue...)

Can any of you guys spread your knowledge/advice? i dont want to spend
extra cash on a dash if it doesnt fix it, (im outta work atm...)

Also My check engine light does not light up when i turn the key...

Yes could be the Dash.  Grab a used one from a yard.  

Some folks have had luck fixing them but its a little involved. 

 

If you have access to a scanner you hook it up and make sure the speed signal is coming in.
