Anybody ever buy or know anything about these engines. They usually have 30-40k miles. I've seen some EJ20s for under a $1000. Haven't seen any EJ22 though.

 

My neighbor just bought a engine for his Nissan. Said he's used a few over the years. Seems like a great deal on a low mileage engine.

just finished swapping a ver5 into my 2001 gc8. let me tell you, it rips everything a new one...

One con is that the owners know they will have to ditch the engine after the milage limit, so they don't bother to change the oil.

You probably won't see any EJ22 engines. They were built almost exclusively for the US market.

A guy I know who used to service my Honda Prelude bought used engines from Japan. I thought he said they came from wrecked cars since there is no room for junkyards on the island.

 

What's the deal with the mileage limit. You mean once the engine has so many miles on it, it must be replaced?

i have purchased many subie motors from Japan. Here in aus they area very available ,2 lt turbo from 850 AUD. Never had a prob with one yet.
