Looking at some other issues on this new to me 97. Looks like oil dripping from the lower timing belt cover, seal? Also looks like axles too, both boots are tore. I can deal with the leak later, and do the timing belt/ all the other crap kit, which I remember was alot of fun on the '95 along with the axles.

Could be a cam seal if its leaking from the left or right side. The left side has a cam seal and an o-ring that tends to dry out and leak.

If its in the middle it could be the crank seal or the oil pump seal.

Don't wait to fix it. If oil gets on the timing belt it will weaken the belt and break it. That engine is an INTERFERENCE engine so a broken timing belt = bent valves.
