Like the title states, can anyone point me in the direction of a PDF or scan of the schematic showing the area where this thing is? I thought it would be right off the upper rad house, but that seems to disappear somewhere under the intake runners. I am lost.

It's at the end of the lower Radiator hose.

well, now isn't that the smartest place for it!

Well, yeah. It does give easy access from the bottom of the car.

I guess, but now, since Subaru put it on the bottom, you have to take off the skidplates, put the car on a hoist or ramps, drain out the fluid, and then refill it.

 

As opposed to just popping off the housing if it was placed on the upper rad house, and replace the thermostat and bolt it back up.
