EA81 engine bench test ...idle problem

Featured Replies

I'm bench testing an EA81 and have managed to start and run the engine thanks to help from an earlier post requesting help . I can rev the engine fine but I can't maintain an idle so I'm guessing that it's a vacuum problem with one of the pipes . I'm not sure which pipes need to be blocked or if it could be something else

Does this need to be connected for engine bench test ?

one way to find a vacuum leak is to take a standard propane torch  turn the gas on but do not light way it near the suspected leak area and the engine speed will increase when it draws in the propane

The one in the first pic is vac for the Power Brakes.  It definately should be plugged for test.
