Was hit head on. 2005 Outback 2.5. Front bumper, headlight assmby, DS quarter panel. Body work done and beautiful. BUT, check engine, cruise and SPORT lights blinking. After 30-40 min of drive, I lose overdrive and 1st gear! Limp mode....got new alternator, belts and battery cables as electric shift and volts low. STILL happening!!! Need help! Do you have the CEL Codes?  That will help.

 

I'd check all the grounds to make sure they are good and battery connections are good.  

 

Subaru Alt?  If not you may want a OEM part.  

 

Does it start fine after your drive or is the battery dead?  

Thank you for your reply....no on the codes,they replaced the battery connections, and yes new alt. Yes it starts fine after you shut it off.
