Do I really need it to finish my head gasket job?  The engine is out but not on a proper stand yet.  I had read that installing the heads with the engine vertical will work.  

 

 

ypull be fine. drain it beforehand of all fluids. it is possible to change heads in car, but ive never gone that way

You can fit and tighten up the inlet manifold before tightening cylinder heads to align the cylinder heads, but only if you don't have dwel pins to locate them.

Thanks guys. Mine has dowel pins but they fit a tad looser than I'm used to from the EJ world. Got it back together, now just waiting on valve cover grommets.
