simple mods

Featured Replies

hey guys i have recently brought a 92 liberty gx wagon and was wondering what are some simple mods i can do to gain some extra kws but at the same time wont cost me an arm and a leg. TIA

Welcome to the USMB.

We don't have the GX model in the US, but I'm guessing it is non-turbo.  You really can't get a lot more power of the non-turbo engines, but things like performing a tune-up are a good first step.  Also, things like a light weight crank pulley can help a little bit and removing the snorkel in the fender to help the engine breathe better.

I'm going to move your post to the new gen forum where more folks will view it.

In addition the ideas already said, you can put in a higher flow air filter (though often higher flow = less effective at filtering...). Seafoam treatment in the top end would likely wake up a car that old a little bit. Depending on the emissions requirements where you live, you might be able to reduce the restriction in your exhaust a little bit, too.

Some people will also argue that a few stickers on your windows might give you a small power bump depending on the brands represented!

Grimspeed phenolic spacers. Lightweight crank pulley. Grounding kit. Exhaust work. MSD coil w/ Magnecor wires. Remove any un-needed weight.
