March 30, 201511 yr I have a late 99 Legacy Outback with a trans code of TZ1A2ZJEBA-WZ that needs a transmission. Finding out that this trans was only produced for a year or maybe 2. Been lurking around trying to find out what gear ration I have and it seems that the 7th digit is the identifier of the gear ratio. Can anyone confirm this? What I can't find is a list of gear ratios associated with that letter. I have a 2000 Impreza parts car that has a good trans with the code of TZ1A2ZAEAA-WX. My hope was that this trans would work in the Legacy Outback but the 7th digit is an "A" on the Impreza and a "J" on the Outback. Any input from the Subaru Gurus on here would be great. Thanks in advance. JC. Edited March 30, 201511 yr by bonecollector
