I have exhaust leaks all over the place but haven't pulled the Y pipe yet to examine its integrity.  (long list ahead of that!)

 

Question:  Is it possible to run dual exhaust down the length of the car?  Depending on where you live, a cat may be involved, but have you ever seen this done?  Benefits, drawbacks?

Hi Dan. My Brat's exhaust was changed some-where down the line before I got it. Last time I was underneath it, I saw two pipes, I believe its a full dual exhaust. The only thing I added was a catalytic converter. So it is most certainly do-able.

I've heard often that a Y or H crossover aids in low engine speed scavenging, promoting torque down low. I'd plan to do either one if I was doing something custom anyway.

True dual exhuast (from each cylinder bank) would likely ruin any scavenging that the stock exhaust Y pipe does.
