April 26, 201510 yr I have noticed the fuel economy drops significantly in my 2.2 Outback at high 60s and 70 mph, I guess the stress drops fuel economy, as I got 350 miles in my last tank. Hmm.. I might just put myself through such a tepid drive on the highway to see any gains. This winter I was running studs, so I never drove faster than 75mph , usually keeping it at 67-70 mph. THAT took getting used to, compared to my usual highway driving. Being said, I expected a higher mpg gain from that, but at the sametime.. studs :/ so it's a crapshoot. I'll try it out on my drive west today and see what's popping under the hood. I forgot, I need to add the mpg of the '11 3.6 Outback. It's gotta be below 30 lol, at least weighed down on long drives.
