Would the front seats of a 2001 forester bolt into a 95 plain legacy sedan?

That car and seats are way too low

 

Just a shot in the dark...I kinda doubt it but.....

Should bolt in but you'll probably need to swap the seat belt latch.

Yeah, they bolt in just fine. I know all the 1990-2004 legacy Impreza and Forester interchange for sure. Probably more beyond that. The only variable is the angle of the front of the brackets may need to be bent slighty with a pair of pliers/vice grips to sit flush and bolt in. Otherwise no modification is needed.

The other question is that this new seat is power and the old is not

 

Could I just run power from somewhere to the hot terminal of the connector under the seat and run a wire from the other terminal to a screw I put into the car body?  should work right

 

I was really hoping the heated seat worked but I seemed to get nothing before I removed the seat

You'll want power from the main fuse panel if possible, and it will need to be run through a circuit breaker to prevent fuse blow out every time the seat hits the track stops.

When the motors stop turning but are still being powered the current draw spikes and will pop a normal fuse. A circuit breaker trips when that draw spikes, then resets on its own after you let go of the button.

 

Track down the power window circuit breaker in a junkyard car or the one you got the seats from if possible.

Can anyone help me figure out how to implement the use of the circuit breaker Fairtax mentions

 

A synopsis of exactly how I would wire this from beginning to end would be very helpful....thanks!

(PS...if we these "circuit breakers" are in the box under to hood behind battery,,,, I do have a parts car to steal one from)

The Pw breaker is usually under the dash. Kind of a small silver rectangle with two spade tabs sticking out of it. Should say the amp rating on the side.

 

Battery > 40 amp slow blow fuse (mount close to the battery or draw from one of the SBFs in the underhood fuse box) > circuit breaker (it can get warm so mount where it can breath, preferably inside the car where it's not exposed to the elements) > wire to the seat

I stuck some heated power seats in my 93 legacy from a 2001 outback. The fronts fit okay, the back seats i had to drill new mounting holes for the back rests. The Drivers seat sits about an inch further to the left than my stock seat did, so my seat belt has a hard time retracting on its own. But i have auto seat belts so that might not be an issue if you have normal seat belts.

 I did have to switch out the seat belt connector on the seats, but that was easy. 

That looks great! Didn't know rears would swap that easy. Good to know.

I found a diagram online that seemed to indicate the PW circuit breaker was under the steering column
 
So from the 02 OB wagon I took the seat out of...I went under the column and don't think I could find it

Anyone know what this thing looks like or where it is exactly?
