speedometer issue

Featured Replies

so i drove the subaru the other day and the speedo did not work. the check engine light came of with a p500 vehicle speed sensor however if i smack the top of the dash the speedo turns on and works fine until i stop the car for a period of time. will the car throgh a p500 with a working speed sensor if the speedo does not move? could this be a loose connection somewhere?

that theory is gone i took it out today and tried to smack the dash a few times witch dident work then it just jumped up im gong to say its probly the speed sensor

Does that have a cable and theb a sensor in the dash?

If that's the case it probably isn't the sensor but the adapter on the transmission that runs the cable.
