Anybody ever put one of these on their weber?

Featured Replies

yes, sure have. Similar design from Ramflo. Have previously had many types of filters, usually the square shaped that has a paper element. But this design is far superior I think as the incoming air can come directly above the throats rather than from the sides.

Use filter spray on it to trap the fine dust particles.

I'd recommend the Ramflo ones. They come with the base plate and the tube for the PCV small hose. What I like about these is their quick release top. And easy access to other things like throttle control, disty etc. Likely more economical to.

look for this sort of advertisement on ebay in your country. http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/161730613103?_trksid=p2060353.m2749.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT

I ran one on my Jeep for a while, but the foam insert shrank and allowed unfiltered air into the engine.

Mine hasn't shrunk but only been on there a few weeks. Suggest if it does you trim the bottom of the mesh a little with snips. Easy fix.

My other concern, even though I checked the dimensions, is whether it will take up the same amount of space on my ea81 and alow for the hood to close without cutting anything and allow the spare tire to fit as well.

Firstly, for those interested, I had a cold air intake, original weber "cap", tube and large cone filter. I was testing my engine one day on the way back from a quick run and took the cap off = straight air input to the throats and there was a big increase in power. So sold the cap, tube and filter and installed the Ramflow filter.

Dimensions? They are- 215mm (8 1/2") x 130mm (5")
