September 18, 201510 yr Hey guys so i have a wrecked 02 Subaru Forester which i believe has a H4 turbo engine which is a manual. Im planning to do a engine swap into a 1997 Subaru Liberty Outback limited which has a blown engine. I was wondering would i need anything else to achieve this since the forester operates mechanically a1 its just the body is written off. I plan to do labour with a few buddys. Thanks, Josh
September 18, 201510 yr not familiar with car / engine specification for your area, but in short it is a ton of work and some money to install a turbo in a non-turbo car. way easier and probably cheaper to just buy a good working turbo car, or a turbo car (in your year group 00 - 04?) that needs an engine. September 18, 201510 yr have to do a complete intake, wiring, and ECU swap for it to work. you'll need a turbo crossmember for the 1997 for the exhaust to clear or cut and weld/fabricate the existing crossmember.
