2016 Forester - Fob only, open windows if car is not on?

Featured Replies

is there a way to open the windows w/o the car being on?  this is the trim that only has the fobs + start button, no keys.

It'll probably require a little bit of rewiring.

On my 2002 Forester, I rewired the windows from the 'Run' circuit, to the 'Acc' circuit. Still need the key in, but don't need the engine running to open the windows. It helps to have proper wiring-diagrams to this kind of mod.

EDIT: Just reread the question, and I see that the car doesn’t have a keyed ignition switch. So my comments don't apply.

Do you want to open the windows without starting the engine? Press the ignition/start button two times withOUT applying the brake.

Or do you want to open the windows with the key fob? Most of the time if the car is able to open the windows with the fob, it is done by pressing and holding the unlock button.
