Engine died while driving, cranks fine, won't start

Featured Replies

Hey Folks, new here but an old Subie guy from back in the day.

I have an '01 Legacy L model, 2.5l, 5speed manual. It quit on me at about 1800rpm on the drive home last week. Cranked fine, no start. 200 hundred miles on a fresh tank of gas. 3 weeks ago, new plugs and wires(NGKs gapped to.040, Import Direct wires). New fuel filter 4weeks ago(old filter gas was clean out both intake and out). I had an intermittent code for knock sensor and replaced. Checked for spark at the coil pack, good in bright sunshine. Got a multi meter and started checking resistance on the coil pack.SEEMED like 1and 2 primary were bad, checked secondary resistance, again, 1and 2 SEEMED bad so I replaced anyway. Fuel pump cycles fine when key is on. Removed small timing belt cover on left side of engine and lined up timing belt marks on that side( all good) and observed while cranking( again, all good. Still no start. Have checked EVERY sensor connection in the book, all good.

Ideas? Critiques? Anything would be helpful. Thanks.
