Rear window deflector

Featured Replies

I seen an OBW with a Rear Window Deflector .

Anyone have any info on them ?

Worth getting ?

Where to buy ?

Easy to install .

URL to look at them .

Thanks

Joe

I have one (option from dealer). Works well, keeps the rear window clean, I almost newer use rear wiper.

However, I suspect I might pay MPG penalty at high speeds (never tested though).

I have one too. Came with the car as a package. Seems to work well if the rear window is not too dirty. I don't use my rear wipers much either.

I had one on my GL and one on my Legacy. I'm pretty happy with them. Haven't noticed them doing anything nasty to my mpg. Used to live on a dirt road, and they really helped keep the dust off the back window. (also help with snow)

I put one on my Forester last year after 2 years of driving without one. Made a HUGE difference in keeping the rear window clean, and NO real difference in mileage.

Purchased an OEM one off of EBay for about 1/2 of dealer retail. Easy to install, just got to get over drilling a few holes in the back deck lid. I had mine painted at the dealer before I installed it, to match the body color (arctic white) - I always thought the stock black was ugly.

I did remove the crossbars from the roof rack since I rarely ever carry anything up there. That did make a BIG difference in wind noise, so I assume it makes a difference in mileage, although I can't really measure it.
