mwood95
Hey guys I was hoping I could get some help regarding a subaru engine swap I am doing into a porsche. I picked up a 5 speed trans from a yard out of a '99 subaru outback sport (which is just a slightly lifted 2.2L impreza hatch afaik) for any type of performance driving you want an LSD, and since my swap uses the front diff in the subaru trans to power the rear wheels of my vehicle (with the center diff locked with a spool from bremar auto), I need to get an LSD for the front diff. can I put an aftermarket front LSD designed to work with '00 - '04 wrx 5mt transmissions in my '99 outback sport trans? can I put an aftermarket front LSD designed to work with '90s wrx 5mt transmissions in my '99 outback sport trans? or do I have to buy a wrx transmission to use aftermarket LSDs? the ones in my price range are cusco rs and the obx torsen. However it seems to be nearly impossible to find an obx torsen for 90's wrx's anymore. they sell new torsens for '00-'04 wrxs. would be a big help if I could get this straightened out. thanks! idosubaru
I'd call the diff companies and ask, they do this every day. Look up other front diff threads, we've talked about this in depth before. The front diff chunks are widely interchangeable, legacy, outback, forester, Impreza, svx, xt for like 10 or 15 years or don eying

idosubaru
Should be able to search for front diff or any of those common brands to find past threads.
