1984 ea81 gl 4x4 wagon CV axel ?

Featured Replies

So I bought an 84 gl 4x4 and a front outer CV joint blew. On rock auto I found replacement out joints, but they only have 1 for 4x4. This car still has factory CV shafts as it sat for a long time. I saw I can use FWD CH shaft assemblies, but in a post I cannot find now, I remember something was different. Is it the shaft diameter? Cause I'm hoping it's the same cause I can only get 1 for 4wd but I can get 2 or more for FWD.... Help?

I've found them at O'Rylies for around $64 Rock Auto wouldn't be my first choice

That's the hole assembly though. I just want to replace the joint.

And I have never had an issue with rockautos parts, my buddy still has mybold Saturn with the front suspension and cv's from them and its still running and driving strong.

I have never seen just the joint for sale.   Just the entire axle, which includes the CV joint and the DOJ.

A lot of discussion on this site about repairing, replacing and rebooting the axle.

Well they do have one, joint only at Rock auto. And I sat for 4 hours digging around about CV shafts and hadn't found what I need to know.
