"New" 2013 Subaru Legacy won't start

Featured Replies

I bought my first Subaru yesterday, and I totally love it. Well, until I tried to get lunch today; it won't start. I have some experience with car repair, and it doesn't seem to be a mechanical problem. This thought is reinforced by the security light blinking once every 4 seconds while it is disarmed. It seems to me that it might be the immobilizer. I don't know how I could have triggered this. After parking it in my driveway this morning, I turned the car off and back to On (but not started) in order to pair my iPhone. This is the only thing I have done between when it ran and now.

I don't like cursing a new car that I just fell in love with. Please help!

I don't have one that new but , my buddys 2013 did that and it was the key ! The dealer did something and gave them a new key. There was a lot to be said for pre computer cars of the past.

If you have more than one key try the others. Also double check that you haven't inadvertently put it in valet mode.

Make sure all the doors are closed, lock it with the Fob, wait until you see the alarm led blinking, then unlock it. Then open the door and try starting. Give that a shot if you haven't already.

On newer cars sometimes the immobilizer kicks in if you put the key In but don't start the car.
