2010 cloth for leather seat swap question

Featured Replies

I have a question about swapping out passenger side manual cloth for leather covered electric.

I already swapped the driver side cloth for leather but my driver side had electric controls so I expected everything to work and it did. Before doing the swap I detached the battery ground. When I did plugged in the "new" seats everything worked.

The "manual" passenger seats are heated and, of course, have the passenger detector/seat belt/buzzer control.

MY QUESTION - can I expect all the electric motors to work when I plug the existing supply plug into the "new" (used) seats? Or am I going to have to take the cloth covers off the existing seats & replace same with the "new" leather covers?

i'd expect them to be plug and play - particularly if they were on the drivers side.

by this year they don't have the side impact air bags in the seat any longer right? those moved into the interior trim panels I think.

I am asking about the passenger side (& hoping for plug and play).

The airbags seem to be in the seats.

Not plug & play.

The only thing missing was a power wire to plug into the "new" leather covered power passenger seat. Instead of jury rigging a power source I swapped the leather & foam seats (from the powered seat frame) onto my seat frames (that were fabric covered).

Pretty easy. Did seat backs first then the bottoms. Found a utube instruction on taking off the back plastic cover.Took my son & I 90 minutes tops.
