2006 outback with auto climate control blows cold on right heat on left winter

Featured Replies

My 2006 Outback wagon with auto climate control will blow heat on left and perform correctly. Intermittent heat on right. Have changed passenger actuator motor no change. Can anyone help? I have not had it into dealer to check on board diagnostics.

It's probably internal to the head unit itself. They, and the radio, are known to have isues with unusual problems. Best bet is to either find yourself a used head unit or Subaru does sell remand units with a core charge. All they need to know is the model number, which is on the trim.

Heater core.

Some 2006's have a recall for too much Chlorine in the coolant, stop in Subaru and see if there's any informaiton on that recall, a TSB, extended warranty, etc....after 10 years I can't imagine there being any warranty but it's worth an ask.

You could try flushing but efficacy of that, while variable, is probably limited.
