Have a question about a 5 speed transmission from a 1978 wagon.  Will it fit into a 1978 Brat?  The guy selling it says it will, but I an new to this so I want to be sure.  Thanks for all of your help.

 

I thought the 5 speeds were front wheel drive, not 4 wheel drive. I wouldn't want a two wheel drive brat. Hope you get a better answer to your question.

I went and looked at it and it looks the same as the 4 speed, but it does have 5 shift positions and a reverse and the 4WD shift lever.  Should I buy it?

If the price is good buy it these parts are getting more scarce every year. Post some photos of the swap. and the test drive.
