I have owned many, many cars over my 60 years, but this is my first Subaru.  I have already noticed that they seem to hold value as well or better than most makes.  Traded out a 4wd full sized ford as wife and I are disabled, and was difficult forr her to get in/out, and our convertile was so low, it was also rough on her.  So in her words, the Subaru is "just right" for her comfort, getting in and out.  We live at beach, hence the 4wd, but feel that the 2001 Subaru Forester S AWD should do well in sand, or off road, and you can believe that I will soon find out.  I have had a helluva time attaching a sony stero to the 14 pin plug on subaru, but I'm persistent, and will figure it out.  I can only work a few hours a day at best before my back says its time to stop.  Got my pin schedules in house now, with a spare plug, so I'm going to just start over completely, but the illumination and dimmer pins on car seem to be possible issue, as the sony has no such connections, so I can only assume the light is in 12vacc connection, but dimmer shuld not stop stereo from being functional......So I will go again.  Hi to all, so far I'm pleased with car, had to spend about 200 bucks for new oxysensor and inspection, but seller was honest up front on this, and my friends who are mechanics all say I came out way on top with the deal I made.  Ok, thats way too much, so I stop for now.
