There is some kind of electrical/electronic module on the left (driver's) side of the trunk.  It is mounted up along the side, under the carpet forward of the jack stowage area.  It is a plastic box measuring about 4" x 5" x 1" thick.  When I started the car this morning it started ticking.  And it kept ticking when I shut the engine off.  So I pulled the multipin connector.  What the heck is this thing and any ideas about the ticking?

is that the module for the electric seat belts? Should be in that area.
