EA81 Front Bumper Bolts

Featured Replies

hey everyone.   My EA81 wagon came with the front bumper zip-tied on.   I have a few questions..

1.   What size bolts do I need to attach the front bumper to the frame rails (4 bolts).  Size and pitch?

2.   On the fenders, where the bumper appears to attach to front quarter panel, the bolts (or nuts) appear to be sheared off.  How does the bumper attach to the fender?  Is there a clip that is bolted to the fender ... then bumper slides over/into the clip?

Never had to remove/install ea81 bumper... Thanks for the help.

1. Don't know the pitch, does take 17mm wrench to remove'

2.There is a bracket attached to bumper with a stud and nut (8mm). Should be 2 holes in fender to attach.

So, on the fender bracket ... that bracket is always mounted?    So the side bumper just slides over the bracket?   Therefore, there is no need to remove nut from inside of fender?

2wd or 4wd?  they are different.

and also chrome 3 piece or one piece skin over frame type?

In my experince the 4 bolts for a 4wd front bumper are 14mm head, m10x1.25.

If it's a 3 piece, you can leave the sides attached to fender and slide off the center portion.

On a one piece, you must undo the 1 or 2 10mm head(m6) bolts from the inside of fender.  don't forget the turn signal wire plugs. before pulling.

It is a 4wd.  Seems to be a one piece.   I found some bolts which I think came from the front bumper.   The threads are dinged up.   I'll run a die over them and try to thread them in.   Thank you for the info, GLoyale.
