I picked up an unused replacement Panasonic cassette radio because the original wasn't illuminating. Everything lights up except for the quartz display.

 

Anyone know what the culprit might be?

The led in the display is burned out.

Might be one that doesn't have lighting in the display.

 

Easiest fix is to spend $100 on a Kenwood.

i have had good luck with Sony Xplod systems with the appropriate harness adapter... wanted to upgrade to a bluetooth compatible system for hands free calling..

worked quite well in the 95 Lego, works just as well in the 02 Forester (swapped it over before selling the Lego)
