EJ Engine Plug Test Question

Featured Replies

So I have a 93 2.2T engine and at the Ej engine you have the three main plugs for the engine.

On the 12 Pin Square plug, F26 Plug according to the schematic, pin 9 is a "green with white stripe",

and pin 10 is a "white with a green stripe".

I can't find them on my drawings. I'm wiring in the ej harness for my 85 Brat and am stuck.

Any out there at have some better drawings, what do those wires go to?????

Oil pressure light and Gauge temp wire.

Can't remember which is which but pretty sure that's it.

And also why they are not included in detail in engine wiring diagrams since neither is actually part of MPFI system just gauge info.

Hey thanks. Got it. I will check my interior wiring and see if I can find them. But now that you say oil pressure light I have an idea where to look.

I will post what I find as well for others too.

So this is what i found, thanks to Gloyale,

Pin #9- Oil Pressure Light

Pin #10- Temp Gauge Thermometer.

So, next question, What do I do with them on the Brat?

The Brat has the oil pressure gauge and what about the temp gauge thermometer?

I took the stock Brat temp sensor and drilled and tapped it into the intake so I would have an accurate reading.

Do I not need these???

You can get some adapters to run the ea oil pressure sender off the port where the ej pressure switch lives. Then run it through the ej harness to feed the stock gauge.

sounds like you got the temp gauge sorted.  You can just leave that wire unhooked.

For oil light, I just ran the wire to the gauge in the car.  Basically using the needle as a "light."  Confuses people who drive because "normal" is Oil Pressure at zero, and key on, Eng Off or failed/no pressure spikes the gauge to over 70.

For temp I wired in a 270 ohm resitor to ground in parallel to the EJ sender and then hooked that to the stock gauge.  Reads pretty close to correct for the mid temp range.  If it gets to 3/4 on the gauge, I know that is actually like full in the red.
