Thanks Fuji, two mounting points on mpfi TB :)

Featured Replies

Just noticed my old EA82 mpfi turbo throttle body has two sets of mounting points for the two different size TPS

One has about 70mm centre to centre, the other about 48mm. This should come in handy

Also noticed two diferent manuafcturers to ..one is JECS the other Hitachi

Hmm one has the three wire plug coming out of it which has been said to be for auto trans connection. Thinking back my GLTA was an auto 4WD 3 speed and did not have this additional plug off the TPS so these may have been for the 4 speed auto ?

Three wire plug coming out of TPS is idle switch.

nothing to do with Auto trans.

OK thanks Gloyale - for causing conflict :), someone else recently suggested it was for auto trans - this is a round three pin plug in black or was it white? comes outta the TPS

Reckon it is possible you stated the functions opposite to what they are as memory now serves me that I queried only two wires in loom connected to the self contained pins of the main TPS body. I cannot recall the three wire pigtail off this being connected so far back.

I also had one on an import engine fitted to a different vehicle that was not a runner
