June 25, 200421 yr Whats up with the rear u-joint on a 87 3dr 4x4. How in the hell do you change it? Craven
June 25, 200421 yr just get a new driveline from a wrecking yard.. the U joints are considered non servicable items.. other option is to have a machine shop press them out and install 'serviceable' ones.. Since they don't commonly go out, I would just get another driveshaft.
June 25, 200421 yr if you decide yo go with a junkyard driveshaft, all you will need is the rear half from the carrier back. the rear half is the same length for any model, auto and manual.
June 25, 200421 yr Author I did a search and found alot of info. I think maybe I can come up with a fix using a U-joint with inner C-clips.
