I saw for sale a 1985 GL wagon that had been turned into a 24 hours of Lemons racecar.  I am looking to do a Lemons race.    It is a good deal for the shape it is in however I have been told that second gear on the manual transmission is iffy.   How hard would it be to find a cheap replacement or the parts to rebuild it?   Thank you for any help you can provide.

Check subarupartsdeal.com, but my guess is not extremely likely. Parts are becoming very scarce for these vehicles, especially drivetrain components. If you are only using it for the lemons race, rev it up and just skip 2nd altogether. Lol.
