98 OBW water pump lifespan

Featured Replies

How long have your '98 OBW water pumps lasted? I am going in for the dreaded head gasket job next week and was wondering if maybe I should have the water pump replaced as well.

How many miles? Have them check your idle pullys and timing belt also. I lost my 2.2 last week because of idle pully failure. Bent the valves in #1 #2 and #3.

133,000 miles.

I had the timing belt done 20k ago.

Yes I think I would have water pump done while they are in their. I would think 133,000 is getting close to life span of pump.

If it wasn't already changed, I'd change it.
