I have an idea of using a Subaru powertrain on a rear engine rail buggy with four wheel drive. Has any one even tried this? I think it can be done with a few modification to get the engine to run in the opposite direction. My biggest concern is will the ring and pinions hold up to running backwards.

hmmmm... not sure about this but, just chiming in to mention I have read of the Aussies building sand rails with soob engines. they may have some interesting adapters or components.
