Copy that, it's the vent control motor that pooped according to the shop. So they are just wanting to manually set the airflow to feet and defrost. Pull apart the drivers side you say? 

Remove the lower kick panel on the drivers side.  

Get your head under there and look up at the side of the airbox.

You will see the motor and linkage.
