I have a 97 Impreza L and i have an odd problem with my AC/Fan. When i turn on the AC and fan everything works. But then after a non standard amount of time, it will cut out, the fan will go off the ac light will go out and nothing will work. If i play around with it for a few seconds it usually comes back on....any thoughts on what might be malfunctioning???

I've had the same problem on my 99 impreza 2.5RS. All relays checked out. I suspected the HVAC controls blower switch. The HVAC control 'head unit' is VERY expensive. Much to my surprise, you can disassemble the head unit, pop off the fan switch cover, clean switch contacts of grease and corrosion - and you're back in business. At least for me! I can provide more insight to the process if you need. Good Luck - hope the response is not too late.
