i am installing a 2nd hand alpine headunit that I got for cheap because the auto antenna power output from the unit doesnt work (probably fried or sumthin).

 

Would i encounter any problems if i spliced the cars Auto Antenna to the "switched" power in the head unit? I realise this would mean that the antenna would go up when ever I turn the key (instead of just when the headunit was on "tuner") but i could live with that

 

I would like some advice on this (or if you have a better way around this problem)
