After a closer look at the rear brake setup I got for my Brat, the rock gaurds are pretty rough (rust). I'm thinking of just eliminating them. Pros and cons?

The rock guards you speak of are also the backing plates/caliper mounts. You'd have to seperate them for sure. For street use you'd probably get away with it but off road they would come into contact with all sorts of stuff.
