Am I the only one who's fuel door won't stay closed? Every time I look my gas cap cover is slightly open. It doesn't want to stay closed:mad:

 

I've tried bending the latch tab a bit but it seems to just make it impossible to close.

 

Unimportant and irritating. Anyone else have this issue on their Forester?

01 Forester

Glenn, I did have that problem with my 02 Forester. Had to bend the hinges outward every so often. Putting a covered screwdriver shaft in the top of the door on the hinge side and gently bending the hinge outward while closing, then doing the same from the bottom. Gets Frustrating.

I'll try that, I was thinking on trying to move that little latch thing back a bit to catch the groove in he door better. Moving the latch seems as though it may be difficult to secure once its moved?
