I have a short block from a EJ253 looks to be between 06 and 09, the pistons look different between the two . My question is, is the bore and stroke of a 253 the same as a 251. Can I put 251 pistons in a 253 and make a 251 out of it, with the proper heads, of course.

The heads must be 251's, be sure to use MLS factory turbo head gaskets.

The PCV arrangement may need to be modified.

Pistons should be ok although new rings and cleaning the drain back holes in the pistons is always a good idea.
