August 13, 200421 yr where is a good place to order tight radius bends that don't cost alot? in steel so i can install this ford thunderbird intercooler i got
August 14, 200421 yr I don't know of any place to order the tube you need. But have you tried going to the muffler shop and seeing if they can bend up what you need?
August 14, 200421 yr I agree with Craig...I'd say a muffler shop or finding some pre-bent exhaust tubing (which auto parts stores carry) will be your best bet.
August 14, 200421 yr why not just use silicone bends? seems easier to me (but not sure if you can, just thought I'd but it out there)
August 14, 200421 yr Author oh yeah wasted 20 bux on exhaust shop bends.. sadly the actual bend "radius" is not tight enough hmm i may have to use weld el's since they can be had in really tight angles .. i just figured since many have intercooled their turbo's that at least a few have run into piping problems i can get a few on ebay.. but they ae aluminum and since i can't weld aluminum "lack of proper tools" i am stuck with steel hmm the search continues
August 14, 200421 yr The tight radius silicone bends are super expensive...Well, at least 20 bucks more expensive then the piece I used. Here's a little secret I found...I needed to use one for isntalling my WRX TMIC... http://www.roadraceengineering.com/mandrelbends.htm Scroll to the very bottom under cast aluminum bends..2.25" 90 degree I guarantee that's thee tightest bend you'll find, but if you are looking for mandrel bent steel or aluminum (not cast) then check out these guys...I was trying to get some people together to buy like 10 intercooler tubing sets from these guys, but no one wanted to do it. I was thinking it'd be cool to pre order all the piping needed to install a Saab 900, WRX, or T-bird TMIC so when someone wanted to install an intercooler, I could just be like here's everything you need! http://www.woolfaircraft.com/elbow.htm Later, Dan
