fud24682000
I'm starting a new thread, even though both my daughter and I are still getting replies to the threads each of us started today regarding her ailing wagon. Because it is tired, we are going to have to locate another 4WD vehicle for her before long, even if we may get her '87 running better for a while. If we stick with a Subaru, it would be great to have another one identical to hers. But while we are in California and don't have to deal with rust and road salt, it would be hard to find one that old that's also not beaten to death. We may have to go to something newer. but I understand newer models have electric 4WD that's more trouble-prone. BTW, to me the dual range is not needed, though I have not discussed that with her. In driving her '87 to her place, I used low range on her advice but then found 1st too low & liable to spin wheels, while 2nd in low range was too tall a gear and lugged the engine. Thanks to all who have given us such great advice. Special greetings to ANZACs, especially to Canadians, my father came from Ontario.
